Make room for a good meal.
Choose a stop in town, beside the Rainbow River, or along the Withlacoochee. Directions open a map from your own starting point; these places are not all at the park entrance.
Breakfast cafés may close before you finish a long float. Eat first, carry permitted water and snacks, and leave your after-river meal flexible.

Breakfast Station
11352 N Williams Street, Dunnellon, FL 34431
A sit-down breakfast or early lunch before your outing. Useful when your group wants to eat before checking in for a paddle.
Plan around this: Published daily hours: 7 a.m.–3 p.m. Leave time for service and your operator’s check-in.
Dunnellon Coffee Co.
11223 N Williams Street, Suite A, Dunnellon, FL 34432
Specialty coffee and brunch, with online pickup ordering. A morning stop or a place to meet before heading out.
Plan around this: Closed Sundays. The kitchen closes earlier than the café; check food-service hours before an afternoon visit.
Sweeties’ Cafe & Tea House
20789 Walnut Street, Dunnellon, FL 34431
Wraps, soups, and desserts at the Grumbles House property. Pair a daytime meal with browsing the nearby shops.
Plan around this: The local visitor listing shows daytime service and Monday closure. Call 352-216-2510 to confirm.
Swampy’s Bar & Grille
19773 E Pennsylvania Avenue, Dunnellon, FL 34432
A casual meal overlooking the Rainbow River. Plan a visit after your activity and change into dry clothes before sitting down.
Plan around this: Pet seating has restrictions. Ask about seating and dietary needs directly; drinks containing alcohol cannot leave the property.
The Blue Gator
12189 S Williams Street, Dunnellon, FL 34432
Lunch and dinner by a different Dunnellon waterway: the Withlacoochee. Its menu includes seafood, burgers, and chicken options.
Plan around this: This is a separate stop by road. Do not change your float exit or shuttle plan to reach a restaurant.
Stumpknockers on the River
13821 SW State Road 200, Dunnellon, FL 34432
Withlacoochee River dining with indoor seating and outdoor decks. Consider it as a separate meal stop when your route takes you toward SR 200.
Plan around this: Choose the “on the River” location, not the similarly named Inverness restaurant. County tourism lists Monday closure.
Headsprings food concession
19158 SW 81st Place Road, Dunnellon, FL 34432
Food service beside the visitor center, with outdoor seating. A useful option during a headsprings day when the concession is operating.
Plan around this: The operator currently lists Friday–Sunday, 11 a.m.–4 p.m. Park admission is separate. Plan another food option for other days.
Prefer to bring a picnic?
Headsprings picnic tables and grills are available first come, first served. A picnic on land and food packed for a tube or kayak trip have different requirements. Repack anything going on the river into durable reusable containers; disposable packaging is prohibited on the water.
Plan for your group
- Check today’s kitchen hours, especially after a long float or on a Monday or Sunday.
- Ask the restaurant directly about allergies, preparation, and cross-contact. A menu label alone is not an assurance.
- Ask about indoor seating, step-free entry, children’s options, or pet seating when those matter.
- Allow time to change, retrieve your car, and drive. A restaurant nearby does not create a new river take-out.
