Do I need a reservation?
The state park’s headsprings/swimming entrance requires a day-use reservation. Tubing is a separate entrance and has its own arrangements. Guided tours, rentals, and accommodation may need separate bookings. See the entrance guide.
Are Rainbow Springs and Rainbow River the same place?
Rainbow Springs is the spring system at the head of the Rainbow River. The state park’s swimming area, its tubing entrance, KP Hole, and private outfitters are different places to start your visit.
Can I go tubing all year?
The state park tubing concession lists an April–September season, with limited days outside summer, and closes October–March. Other operators may have different offerings. Check the specific operator instead of assuming every float is available.
Where do I book?
Use our tours and rentals directory to visit an operator’s own website. Your reservation, payment, cancellation, and confirmation are handled by that operator. RainbowRiver.com does not currently take booking payments.
What should I bring?
Start with a reusable water bottle, sun protection, suitable footwear, a dry bag, a towel, and a properly fitted life jacket for water activities. Confirm the operator’s rules for food, containers, equipment, and children.
Is RainbowRiver.com a government website?
No. RainbowRiver.com is a independent visitor guide. We link to Florida State Parks, Marion County, and individual businesses for official rules and bookings.
Can I bring food, drinks, and a cooler?
Use the packing and rules guide for the distinction between picnic supplies on land and items taken on the river. Water trips require non-disposable packaging, and cooler arrangements depend on the operator.
Where can we eat before or after the river?
See breakfast, café, park-food, and restaurant options with addresses and links to current hours. Some places close early; plan food around your return time.
What can we do without swimming or tubing?
Browse shops, walking trails, preserves, and gardens, or start with our land-based day plan.
